About Emergency Care
Emergency rooms are best utilized for life-threatening emergencies. Our commitment to our patients is that AgeWell is available first. A call to us can avoid a lengthy and unpleasant (not to mention costly) experience in the emergency room. If you’re uncertain whether you should visit the ER or not, call our on-call provider. He or she will properly advise you as to the best course of action, even after hours and on weekends.
About Hospital/Facility Care
Since AgeWell providers no longer see patients in hospitals or rehabilitation facilities, we may not be aware of when you are admitted. If you are hospitalized or admitted to another facility, we ask that you call us as soon as you are discharged. This allows us to promptly schedule appropriate follow up care for you.
About Medications
The medications prescribed for you are very important to your treatment and health. If you need a prescription refill, please contact your pharmacy first and 7 to 10 days before you run out of medication. With the exception of controlled substances, we send all prescriptions electronically to your pharmacy per Medicare guidelines.
Please allow 24 hours for all prescription refill requests to be processed.
If you need to dispose of old medications, please bring them to AgeWell and we will properly discard them for you. Do not throw old medications in the trash or flush down the toilet.
